While we all look forward to big March winter storms, there’s something special about bluebird days in the Olympic Valley. We’ve put together a list of what you can do when the sunny, spring skiing days arrive. Take a look and see where your goggle tan will take you.
Spring Skiing Capital

Palisades Tahoe is known as the “Spring Skiing Capital” and one of the top reasons for that is the ideal spring skiing conditions. Fast morning groomers give way to slushy snow midday and smiles all around. From Alpine Bowl to Sun Bowl and everything in between, with 6,200 acres to explore across two peaks you can’t go wrong. Just don’t forget your sunscreen!
While you’re at it, bring your bathing suit too! In the spring, Palisades Tahoe offers a unique mountain top experience at High Camp, a huge outdoor hot tub. Who doesn’t love a mid-mountain hot tub party?
Sunny Après Ski

Yet another reason Palisades Tahoe holds the Spring Skiing Capital crown is the epic après ski options. If you’ve had enough Alpine Bowl laps, ski up to the on snow Ice Bar on Alpine Meadow’s backside for a beer under the spring sun. Want another ski-up option before you leave? Stop in at The Chalet deck for Bavarian-style beer garden fare before you hop on the bus to make your way back to The Village at Palisades Tahoe.
Once back at The Village at Palisades Tahoe, settle into the après scene on the outdoor “snow beach” in front of the KT Base Bar with views of skiers at the base of the world-famous KT-22 chairlift. Next, grab a pitcher of beer with your friends at Le Chamois, or as it’s known to the locals, “The Chammy”. Enjoy the sun, grab a picnic table and cheers to your day of spring skiing.
Hungry after a day on the slopes? For the skiers and boarders with a sweet tooth in your group, be sure to stop by Wildflour Baking Company for their famous chocolate chip cookies. You can take home a bagful or, better yet, buy a “Cookie Pass” for a season’s worth of deliciousness.
Mountain Music

Just a couple of years old, Winter Wondergrass Tahoe has quickly become a springtime favorite for music loving skiers. You can enjoy three days of bluegrass, jamgrass and roots music favorites with Palisades Tahoe as a dramatic backdrop. If that sounds like your “jam”, plan on making your way to the Olympic Valley for an exciting three-day weekend, April 1-3. Bring your ski gear to enjoy mornings out on the slopes, your afternoons beer tasting and evenings listening to the world class line up of musicians.
A Two Sport Kind of Day

As spring arrives, you can take advantage of the snow on the mountains while also enjoying the snow melting off of the trails and beaches of Lake Tahoe. Start the day with a morning of skiing at Palisades Tahoe and finish the day with a round of golf at the Resort at Squaw Creek or make your way to the lake to relax in the spring sun. With so much to do here, be sure to visit the Olympic Valley this spring so you can have twice the fun each and every sunny day.
