This time of year, you can’t help but think about gratitude. “Thankful” is emblazoned across pumpkins and table decor, “Grateful” is in every photo caption, and Thanksgiving is the holiday where we all “Give Thanks.” So we figured now is as good a time as any to reflect on why we are so Thankful to live at The Palisades this year.

We love living in the heart of Olympic Valley. There is something a little magical about this valley, with the stunning views of Palisades Tahoe, the gorgeous open meadow, and a mountain creek running through it all. We’re just minutes away from world-class mountain terrain all year round, and a short drive to downtown Truckee or Tahoe City. There are so many great restaurants and local shops in both small towns, we simply can’t pick a favorite – and luckily, we don’t have to! Whether we’re out riding the bike path, hiking, skiing, or simply relaxing in the hot tub or enjoying the fire pit on the deck, there is always something to enjoy by getting outside in Olympic Valley.

Four Adventure-Filled Seasons

Life in the mountains offers four unique seasons to enjoy. And while spring and fall are often a bit short, they are always a welcome change of weather. From epic winter snow days spent lapping the mountain, to endless summer afternoons lazing away at the lake, we think it’s always the perfect season to be in Tahoe. Spring offers world-famous spring skiing and legendary dual days – true adventure junkies love hot laps in the morning and bike tracks in the afternoon. Summer is the perfect time to float the Truckee River or get out on the lake. There’s nothing like paddling a kayak or a SUP on the early morning calm waters, or surfing a wake all afternoon; and with endless options for sandy beaches, lounging in the sun isn’t a bad way to spend the day, either! Fall offers gorgeous sunny days and cooler temps perfect for hiking and biking the endless trails in the area. Later in the season, as the leaves start to change and winter hints at her arrival, we can’t help but get excited to do it all over again. There truly isn’t a bad time to be in Tahoe, and we are thankful for that every season!

Mountain Family Community

Chances are you love the mountain lifestyle if you ended up here, and your kids probably do, too. Luckily, you’re in good company – The Palisades is the ideal mountain community for young families and adventure-seekers. You’re sure to find friends in your neighbors who enjoy spending their days exploring and enjoying all the area has to offer. As our community grows, we will also be building a multi-use park where homeowners can gather and relax. Homeowners also have access to the Mountaineer Shuttle, a free shuttle operated by Palisades Tahoe that runs daily from 7 am – 10:30 pm, starting December 10th. It’s the people that ultimately make a place special, and we are so grateful for all the wonderful homeowners who call The Palisades home.
