The snow is here, the mountian is open, and the holiday spirit is all around! The Village at Palisades Tahoe is hosting a slew of festive events for the next two weeks, so if you’re in need of some holiday cheer, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve rounded up a list of Village events happening all week, but be sure to check out other happenings in Truckee and Tahoe City, as they will be bustling as well!
For the Kids
This season, Palisades has set up a Kits Craft & Game Room open from 10 am – 9 pm daily, where kids can enjoy arts & crafts, movies, and a feature film each night. They’ll also be hosting a Balloon Show from 4-6 pm on December 20th, and a visit from Santa on December 23rd from 11:30 am – 12 pm. Day passes for the Kid’s room are $10. Santa Claus is Coming to The Village
Santa will be in the Village December 23-24th, visiting the Kid’s Room, reading stories and leading holiday songs at the big chair, and ready for photos in the afternoons! He’ll be strolling around The Village from 12-2:30 pm on the 23rd, and 11 am – 1 pm on the 24th. Starting at 2:30 each day, he will post up in the big chair and read favorite holiday stories and lead Christmas carols. You can also get free photos with Santa from 3-4 pm both days. Finally, Santa will be wandering The Village with the Great Basin Carolers, joining in classic Christmas songs starting at 4:15 pm. The Great Basin Carolers will be performing in The Village December 21st-24th.
On the Slopes
Show off your skills with Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley, December 26th – 31st! Jonny will be visiting both Alpine Meadows and Olympic Valley over the week, taking the slopes from 1:45-4 pm daily, and then enjoying Apres at the Alpine Bar or Plaza Bar. December 29th is sure to be a blast with a retro ski party kicking off at the Plaza bar from 4-6 pm. He’ll also visit the Kid’s room for a Meet & Greet on Secember 30th from 5-6 pm, and round out the celebrations as part of the New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade December 31st.
Speaking of Apres, you can enjoy a Sunset Happy Hour at High Camp overlooking the snow-capped Sierra and majestic Lake Tahoe. Tickets are required and include tram access and one complimentary drink. Appetizers and a full bar menu are available for purchase. Tickets must be picked up at the base of the Tram building before the last tram up leaves at 4:45 pm. Party After Dark
The adventures don’t stop after dark! Disco Tubing is fun for the whole family, as you glide down the hills of the SnoVentures Activity Zone under colorful LED lights, lasers, and live DJs every night December 26th-31st, from 5-8 pm. Time slots start at 5 pm, 6 pm, and 7 pm and advanced ticket purchases are required. Book your tickets for your desired time slot here, and be sure to check the correct date is selected when you search. Round out the season with the Torchlight Parade, New Year’s Eve 2021. Skiers and riders can sign up for timeslots to ride the Exhibition Chair and carry LED torchlights as they carve down the hill and light up the night.
