2. Après on Your Own Private Deck
Skip the traffic and the lines at the bar after a day on the slopes, and enjoy your Après in front of the firepit! All models at The Palisades offer various options for a private deck, some overlooking the mountain and others secluded by towering pines. Is there anything better than taking off your ski boots and enjoying a refreshing beverage after a day in the snow? When you’re après-ing at home, you can wrap up in a cozy blanket and slippers, and help yourself to the fridge – no waiting or wearing a mask required!
3. 7 minutes to Lake Tahoe and 20 minutes to Truckee
Lake Tahoe is the largest Alpine Lake in North America – and we’re only a seven-minute drive away! The beauty and majesty of the lake is incredible in all seasons – from beaches and watersports in summers, to hiking and biking in spring and fall, to snow-covered mountains in winter, Tahoe offers an outdoor paradise to all. The Palisades at Squaw is nestled between this alpine lake oasis and the historic town of Truckee, California. Truckee offers a multitude of quality dining and shopping options with a unique mountain-town feel. Full of passionate creatives who love the outdoors, you’ll find unique gifts, local artisans, and laid-back breweries abound. You can check out our Local Shopping Guide here.
Two of our favorite dining options are Pianeta and Cottonwood. Pianeta Restauranta is a cozy locale in the heart of historic downtown Truckee, specializing in creating delicious Italian foods, inspired by Northern Italy, and specializing in homemade pastas. They currently offer to-go and patio seating, but please check their website for current updates. Cottonwood Restaurant and Bar is housed in one of the nation’s oldest ski lodges, which was hand built from salvaged railroad ties in 1928. Revel in unmatched views of downtown Truckee and the surrounding Sierra from the expansive deck. Currently offering take-out or Brunch on weekends.
4. Views, Views, Views!
